Brand Manager

This is currently a full-time remote position. However, preference will be given to applicants within transit or driving distance of our home base in New York City to allow for regular in-person meetings in the post-pandemic future.


We are seeking a full-time Brand Manager to oversee the evolution of our firm’s brand identity, content and communications platforms, driving our ongoing engagement with the field.

The Brand Manager will be an integral new member of LaPlaca Cohen’s practice, working across the entire firm to better communicate our firm’s value to the field, articulate our services, and promote the impact of our Culture Track research initiative, including our upcoming Culture of Transformation Summit (a field-wide convening planned for Fall 2022). 

We work alongside corporate, philanthropic, and non-profit organizations to envision their greatest futures, transform their organizations, uncover inventive solutions to their most pressing challenges, and pioneer paradigms that will shape the future of culture.

Who you'll work with:

The Brand Manager will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and will collaborate with staff across the organization. This role will work in deep collaboration with our Business Development Manager to shape our firm’s new brand identity and articulate services and value proposition to prospective and existing clients. This role will collaborate with LC’s Marketing Team in support of the upcoming Summit and with our Marketing Strategist for support on social media. You will also work with our design partners for the development of visual collateral.

  • Exceptional Writing: You are a phenomenal writer, able to adapt your style to an organization’s brand tone across multiple platforms of varying degrees of formality. 
  • Trend-Spotting: You keep a close watch to changes in the field, always monitoring shifts in our peer and client landscape and determining their impact on our brand positioning.

A typical week in this role looks like:

  • Defining our firm’s brand identity, narrative, and positioning strategy as part of our Fall 2022 brand relaunch.
  • Workshopping ideas for our firm’s brand identity and narrative with internal stakeholders. 
  • Managing decisions around the firm’s website and suite of outbound firm communications assets.
  • Overseeing the firm’s social media strategy and rolling out new approaches to client engagement in collaboration with our Marketing Team.
  • Developing and executing an overarching content strategy for engaging new and existing clients across a range of channels, including our newsletter, webinars, and field events. 
  • Developing and sourcing firm collateral that highlights our firm’s value to clients and showcases our very best client work (such as case studies, testimonials, etc). 
  • Identifying moments for our firm to enter field-wide conversations, connecting bigger social stories with our firm’s point of view and expertise. 
  • Collaborating with our Business Development Manager to refine our storylines and collateral for prospective clients across the customer journey, including in proposal and pitch materials.
  • Participating in ongoing internal visioning and planning workshops and meetings alongside our entire company, contributing to our future growth strategies.


  • Exceptional presentation, writing, and storytelling skills.
  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience leading marketing, content, communications, or branding for an organization; preferably in the sectors of arts, culture, entertainment, advertising and/or consulting.
  • Deep interest and passion for the power of branding to further the impact of an organization.
  • Dedication to inclusive storytelling that centers BIPOC-serving organizations and uplifts wisdom from BIPOC communities. 
  • Prior experience managing content, newsletters, social media, SEO, and/or website development is a must.
  • Prior experience with a brand identity redesign, brand launch, or event launch is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Google Slides, Keynote, and Excel, is a must.
